J-Palm Liberia is seeking a strategic, execution-driven, and operations-savvy leader to join our senior management team as Head of Operations. This is a unique opportunity to shape the trajectory of one of Liberia’s most innovative and impact-driven companies—transforming raw materials from smallholder farmers into world-class consumer goods and clean energy products.

This position reports directly to the CEO. The Head of Operations will be responsible for translating our bold vision into operational reality by overseeing and optimizing the day-to-day running of the company across all business units—consumer products, clean energy, and supply chain. The successful candidate will ensure that our systems, teams, and workflows are aligned to deliver on growth, profitability, and impact targets.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Execution & Operational Oversight

• Lead the execution of the company’s strategic business plan across departments (Production, Sales, Finance, HR, Marketing, Supply Chain, etc.)
• Translate long-term vision into short- and medium-term operating goals and KPIs
• Ensure coordination and collaboration across business units to deliver performance targets
  
  

Systems Building & Process Optimization

• Design, document, and implement scalable systems and SOPs across operations
• Establish and monitor internal controls, ensuring efficiency and compliance
• Optimize supply chain, production planning, logistics, and procurement systems
  
  

People & Performance Leadership

• Directly manage heads of departments and build a high-performance culture of accountability
• Lead weekly and monthly performance reviews with department heads
• Mentor and grow the operations and admin teams, instilling operational discipline and excellence
  
  

P&L and Financial Management

• Work with the Finance team to track business unit profitability and optimize resource allocation
• Lead budget planning and operational cost control initiatives
• Use data and reporting tools to drive decisions and measure ROI across projects
  
  

Execution of Growth Initiatives

• Oversee the roll-out of new products, retail locations, and expansion projects
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to execute projects on time and on budget
• Troubleshoot operational bottlenecks, making rapid adjustments where needed
  
  

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Operations Management, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree (MBA or equivalent) is an added advantage.
• Experience: Minimum 7 years in operations, supply chain, or general management, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role. Experience in FMCG, manufacturing, agribusiness, or energy sectors is a strong advantage.
• Executional Excellence: Proven track record of building systems, managing teams, and delivering results in complex, fast-paced environments.
• Leadership: A natural leader who thrives in managing people, processes, and outcomes; strong ability to hold teams accountable.
• Problem Solver: Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Able to zoom out to see the big picture and zoom in to troubleshoot operational issues.
• Growth-Oriented: Passionate about scaling impact-driven businesses; comfortable wearing multiple hats in a fast-growing organization.
