J-Palm Liberia (JPL) is a leading manufacturer of Palm Oil and Palm Kernel Oil, dedicated to producing natural products for food and personal care. In line with this commitment, JPL seeks a qualified and experienced Internal Auditor to ensure the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Internal Auditor will be responsible for independently evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of the organization's internal controls, risk management processes, and compliance with policies and regulations. The auditor will report directly to the CEO and work closely with senior management to provide assurance and recommendations for improvement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct comprehensive internal audits to assess the organization's financial, operational, and compliance processes.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and identify areas of improvement.
- Assess the reliability and integrity of financial and operational information.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
- Provide recommendations for improving processes, policies, and internal controls.
- Investigate and report on irregularities or discrepancies found during audits.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop risk management strategies.
- Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations and corrective actions.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., Certified Internal Auditor - CIA) is highly desirable.
- Proven experience in internal auditing, risk management, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and audit standards.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
REPORTING
The Internal Auditor will submit regular reports to the CEO, highlighting audit findings, recommendations, and the status of corrective actions. The auditor will maintain open communication with senior management to ensure a collaborative approach to enhancing internal controls and operational efficiency.
