Position: Marketing and Sales Manager

Compensation: $1,200 base salary net, with potential bonuses and commissions up to $2,800 based on performance.
1. Background
J-Palm Liberia is a leader in the production of natural cosmetics and household products made from organic palm oil and palm kernel oil. We are committed to sustainability and empowering local communities by creating high-quality products that cater to the needs of Liberian households. Our primary objective over the next 18 months is to build a comprehensive supply chain and distribution network that ensures our products reach at least 50% of households in Liberia.
2. Purpose of the Position
The Marketing and Sales Manager will be instrumental in driving J-Palm Liberia’s growth by developing and implementing effective sales strategies and marketing campaigns. The Manager will ensure that these strategies are executed on time and within the allocated budget to meet the company’s ambitious market penetration and revenue growth goals. This role requires a proactive leader who can manage and inspire the marketing and sales teams to achieve outstanding results.
3. Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy Development and Execution
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve market penetration in at least 50% of Liberian households within 18 months.
- Identify and prioritize key markets, distribution channels, and customer segments.
- Monitor and analyze sales performance, making data-driven adjustments to strategies as needed to ensure targets are met.
- Provide accurate sales forecasts and set performance goals aligned with the company’s revenue targets.
Marketing Strategy and Campaign Management
- Design and execute innovative marketing campaigns that increase brand awareness, drive product demand, and support sales initiatives.
- Oversee the creation and distribution of marketing materials, including digital and print media.
- Manage and optimize J-Palm Liberia’s online presence, including social media, e-commerce platforms, and the company website.
- Conduct market research to identify customer needs, preferences, and trends, using these insights to refine marketing strategies.
Team Leadership and Management
- Lead, mentor, and manage the marketing and sales teams, fostering a high-performance culture focused on achieving goals.
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and capabilities of the marketing and sales teams.
- Set clear objectives, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations to ensure team members meet their targets.
Budget Management
- Develop and manage the marketing and sales budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to maximize return on investment.
- Monitor expenditures and optimize costs to stay within budget while achieving desired outcomes.
Partnership and Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including distributors, retailers, and customers.
- Collaborate with external partners, such as advertising agencies and media outlets, to amplify marketing efforts.
Reporting and Analytics
- Provide regular reports to the CEO on sales performance, market trends, and campaign effectiveness.
- Use data-driven insights to refine strategies and tactics for improved outcomes.
- Track and measure the impact of marketing campaigns on sales, brand awareness, and customer engagement.
4. Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales and marketing, with a proven track record of success, preferably within the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) sector.
- Experience managing teams and driving performance to achieve revenue growth targets.
- Strong understanding of the Liberian market and consumer behavior.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in digital marketing tools, CRM software, and data analytics.

6. Compensation
- Base Salary: $1,200 net per month.
- Bonuses and Commissions: Potential to earn up to $2,800 based on performance, including achievement of sales targets and successful execution of marketing campaigns.
7. Duration
The Marketing and Sales Manager position is a full-time role based in Monrovia, Liberia. This is an indefinite term contract, with a probation period of 3 months.
